1 bunch asparagus, trimmed
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic, finely chopped (optional)
1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper (or to taste)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

1. Preheat the oven to 220 C / Gas 7.
2. Toss to coat the asparagus in the olive oil, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt and pepper. Arrange the asparagus onto a baking tray in a single layer.
3. Roast in the preheated oven until just tender, 10 to 15 minutes depending on thickness. Sprinkle with lemon juice just before serving.
